Joe Waggoner

Joe began coaching soccer and goalkeepers in 1995 in South Texas.
Joe has played professional soccer for the Houston Hurricanes, the Texas Toros, the Texas Rattlers, and most recently with the Texas Spurs of the PDL. In 1999 Joe was invited into the Dallas Burn Pro player combine, entered into the 1999 MLS Superdraft, then invited to train day to day with the Dallas Burn organization (now FC Dallas), as he played games with their minor league teams.
Joe graduated from Baylor University in 1994, and has worked in soccer ever since. He began coaching in 1995 as goalkeeper and team coach for the Katy Strikers (now Albion Hurricanes FC West) outside of Houston, Texas. Along the way, Joe has worked as goalkeeper evaluator for South Texas state teams in the '82, '84, and '85 birth years. In the spring of 1998, Joe coached the '84 girls South Texas ODP state team. He spent four years in Houston, coaching teams and goalkeepers for the Strikers and ODP until moving to Dallas in 1999.
In Dallas, Joe has worked as goalkeeper coach for the Texas Spurs (2001 - 2003), Andromeda (since 2006), Southwest (Now Revolution Premier - 2001 - 2006), Texas Spirit (since 2003), Club Classic (since 2003) and Sting (since 2007) soccer clubs.
Since 2001, Joe has worked as the head goalkeeper coach for North Texas Soccer in the Olympic Development Program working with every age for the boys and girls state teams.
Joe is a clinician for North Texas, educating team and individual coaches on training their goalkeepers. He teaches the goalkeeper portion of many of the E, D, and C clinics in North Texas. Joe has also led instruction at the Annual General Meeting for North Texas, the SMU Soccer Coaches Clinic, and led goalkeeper education programs for recreational associations in North and South Texas.
In 2007, Joe joined the coaching staff for Southern Methodist University. He is the current goalkeeper coach for the SMU Women's Soccer Team under Head Coach Brent Erwin.
He received a national "C" coaching license in 1997.

All Private Training Goalkeepers must complete a new player packet. The packet consists of:
- Registration Sheet - this is the information needed to register the goalkeeper for the KeeperZone Website- .doc

- Clinic Release - This is a North Texas form notifying your team coach that the goalkeeper will be training with KeeperZone Coaches. This form must be signed by the team coach, parent, and goalkeeper -
