January 10, 2010
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What time should we arrive?
- You should plan to be at the Andromeda Training Facility (map here) between 30 minutes and 1 hour before your age group is scheduled to begin (schedule and accepted players will be posted here). This will give you time to check in and warm up and watch some of the events going on.
- For the 2010 event we plan to start the tournament at 9am for Girls and at 1:30pm for Boys. As the event gets closer we will make any adjustments to this schedule to compensate for conflicts that come up.
-
Who should pay for the event?
-
The idea of the event is Keeper Love. This is a day for the goalkeepers, as such, it is a day that the players team should support the goalkeeper as a group both by their attendance and financial assistance. Only team checks are accepted as a form of payment for the event.

What is the KeepepWar competition?
-
This is Keeper against Keeper in a one on one battle. You can see the rules here. We are hoping to have a video that outlines the game for you before the event date. There will also be a short demonstration before the first game on event day, this will help you plan your strategy.
-
What is "back at you Backham"?
-
This is the shooters or specialist's game. It is the shooters from one team against the goalkeeper of another team shooting from set piece (or free kick) locations near and around the goal. One team of shooters shoots against a goalkeeper then the other teams shooters shoot against the other goalkeeper. The winning team is the team that scores most goals. You can see those rules here. We are hoping to have a video that outlines the game for you before the event date. There will also be a short demonstration before the first game on event day, this will help you plan your strategy.
How many specialists (shooters) will be needed?
-
What will the specialists do?
What should we wear to the event?

Each goalkeeper and specialist should wear soccer gear appropriate to their role. Goalkeepers should have typical goalkeeper equipment (gloves, jersey if wanted etc..). Goalkeepers should wear shinguards although there should be no contact in any of the competitions. Club and team gear is neither necessary nor discouraged.
